Best Time to Visit in Andaman and Havelock Island
The best time to visit Havelock Island is between January to May when the weather is most favourable for diving and other activities
This is a small, quiet and beautiful island, which is very popular among the more bohemian backpackers, who seem to set up tents and hammocks everywhere. Bring mosquito nets, as there are a lot of sand flies around. You get here by taking a ferry from Port Blair or from Havelock Island. To get back you take the same ferry – which departs once a day.
Barren Island – The only Active volcano in south east asia
This island resides at a distance of 140 km from Port Blair and can pride itself with having the only active volcano in Southeast Asia. You will find good diving, fishing, and snorkelling spots around the island but you cannot go ashore.

This island lies five km north of Havelock. The waters around the island have many very popular diving locations whose depths varies from 1.8 to 20 meters.
North bay Island
located a bit north from Port Blair, this island is a welknown spot for snorkeling. A 30 minutes ferry from the Aberdeen Jetty will take you there. Ross Island served as the capital of the Andaman Islands between 1858 and 1941, before a major earthquake destroyed much of the island. Then Port Blair became the new capital. This small island, located just a few km from the Aberdeen Jetty, is covered with thick forests and overgrown ruins. Here you can go on historical explorations in the spirit of Indiana Jones. The island also has a museum, operated by the Indian Navy, and a graveyard.
