HOW TO REACH FOR NAINITAL HONEYMOON TRIP FROM KOLKATA?

OPTION 1: BY FLIGHT VIA DELHI
If you want to reach Nainital by flight, then one point to remember is that there is no direct flight from Kolkata to Nainital. First you have to reach New Delhi Airport from Kolkata. There are lots of flights available from Kolkata to Delhi. After landing at Delhi airport, one can avail local bus service or online cab services like Ola, Uber and Meru Cab to reach Nainital safely.
After reaching Delhi, the most preferred and convenient way to reach Nainital is by boarding an overnight bus from Delhi. The distance between Delhi to Nainital is almost 340 km and it takes almost 8 to 10 hrs to reach Nainital depending upon the bus service company, road and weather conditions.
Every night between 10:00 pm to 11:30 pm lots of buses and luxury coaches depart for Delhi and reach Nainital the next morning. The first bus for Nainital from Delhi leaves around 03:15 pm which is operated by Blue World Tourist. Apart from that, other types of buses are AC Seater/Sleeper(2+1), Tata AC Seater (2+2), Isuzu AC Seater (2+2), AC Seater push back (2+2) etc operated by Northway Holidays, Regal Cruiser Travels, Gangesh Tours and Travels etc. All these buses generally depart from Anand Vihar, Chandni Chowk and Kashmiri Gate.
The bus fares from Delhi to Nainital varies between INR 600 to INR 1200 depending upon the bus operator, the type of seat chosen, peak and off peak season.
OPTION 2: BY TRAIN
The rail distance between Kolkata to Nainital is about 1513 km. To cover this distance there is only one train available i.e. Bagh Express that runs daily from Howrah Station to Kathgodam. It takes almost 35 hrs and 40 minutes. Every night Bagh Express (train no 13019) depart from Howrah Station (generally Platform No 13) at 21:45 hrs and reach Kathgodam Station (generally Platform No 1) next to next day morning around 09:25 hrs.
This train is very popular among travellers from eastern India, especially for those who are going for Nainital Trip or Jim Corbett National Park Tour. There is one thing to remember, which is, no pantry car service is available in Bagh Express.
Now after reaching Kathgodam, you have to travel to Nainital by road. The distance between Kathgodam and Nainital is around 34km and its 1 hour journey. There are plenty of local taxis and online cabs which can take you to your desired destination.
NOTE: There is a drawback of Bagh Express. Though it runs daily, but takes almost 34 hrs i.e. you have to spend almost 2 nights in train. Now there is another good option. There is a Lal Kuan Superfast Express that runs between Howrah and Lalkuan Junction of Uttarakhand. It’s a weekly train and takes almost 24 hrs to reach. Every Friday Lalkuan Express (12353) departs Howrah at 08:15 am in the morning and reaches Lalkuan at around 07:20 am next day i.e. you save almost 10 hrs than Kathgodam express.
After reaching Lalkuan, take a taxi or Cab and reach Nainital. It’s almost 62 kms and takes nearly 2 hrs. i.e. within 10 am at morning you will be in your Nainital hotel far before your check in time.
